How to Download a Price List for XactRemodel Desktop

Due to the change that was made on May 1, 2022, as described in the Extending access to XactRemodel Desktop article, price lists can no longer be downloaded directly through XactRemodel Desktop. For a limited time, price lists can still be downloaded through XactRemodel Studio.

Downloading a price list for XactRemodel desktop

  1. Log in to the new XactRemodel.
    1. If you don't have a subscription to the new XactRemodel, instructions on how to do so can be found here: How do I subscribe to XactRemodel?
  2. If you haven't already, link your desktop XactNet Address to your new XactRemodel account (Link an XactRemodel desktop account). This feature will not be available to those who don't have an XactNet Address associated with their account.
  3. Navigate to the Settings tab in the primary navigation.
  4. Enter the ZIP/Postal code for the price list you are needing to download.
  5. Click Download.

The price list will automatically download through your Internet browser.

Keep an eye out to see if the download was blocked by your pop-up blocker. You will need to allow pop-ups in order to download the price list.

Import the price list into XactRemodel desktop

Once the price list file (.PLX) has been downloaded, you can now data transfer the price list into XactRemodel desktop. To do so:

  1. Log in to XactRemodel desktop
  2. Click Services in the top menu, and select Data Transfer
  3. Verify the "Folder" and "Retrieve" options are selected in the data transfer window, browse to the location where the .PLX file was downloaded, then click Next
  4. Click Price List on the left-hand side of the screen then select the desired price list.
  5. Click Retrieve.
You may be asked to select which profile to import the price list to. If so, select a profile and continue.
An easier way to import a price list file (.plx) is to simply drag the file from your computer into XactRemodel desktop and it will data transfer automatically.
