Roof locks

Measurement locks within the roof properties window allow you to see which parts of the roof measurements are locked and cannot be modified.

Note: For more information about the properties window, see our Roof properties document.

For example, you can use the run measurement lock if you are extending the rafter length on a roof but want to keep the ridge line in place.

Note: The steps below cover this scenario; however, there are multiple other locks available.
  1. Within a project, select the desired roof.
  2. Select the Properties… icon.

  3. Select the lock icon next to the desired Run.
    Note: When locked, the icon changes from an unlocked padlock to a locked one and displays blue instead of grey.
  4. Select the X icon to save.

Now, you can either resize the roof by dragging the desired face or return to the properties window and enter measurements manually.
