Square Break Tool

The Square Break tool is used to create offset walls or create small sub rooms, such as closets and pantries in Studio.

Single-break method

The single-break method can be used to extend or shorten a wall at the point where the cursor is placed.


  1. Within Studio in XactRemodel or XactRestore, select the Square Break icon.
    Note: Alternatively, select the B key on the keyboard.
  2. Select the spot along the wall to create the break.

  3. Select and drag the desired double-arrow icon.

To create an offset, select a blank space in the Studio window. To create a new sub room, select the plus icon that appears.

Double-break method

The double-break method can be used to extend or shorten a wall for a specific width.


  1. Within Studio in XactRemodel or XactRestore, select the Square Break icon.
    Note: Alternatively, select the B key on the keyboard.
  2. Select and drag the width desired.

  3. Select and drag the desired double-arrow icon.

To create an offset, select a blank space in the Studio window. To create a new sub room, select the plus icon that appears.
