Line item quantity calculations

Russell B. Updated by Russell B.

When entering line items into rooms sketched in the Studio tab, or to a group that has dimensions, variables are used to determine the quantity of a line item.

Note: This feature is limited to XactRemodel and XactRestore online; it is not available on XR Mobile.

These variables include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • F: Floor area
  • C: Ceiling area
  • W: Wall area
  • PF: Floor perimeter
  • PC: Ceiling perimeter
  • WC: Wall and ceiling area combined

In addition to the above variables, you can use the following mathematical symbols: +, -, /, and * (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication respectively).

Follow the steps below to view the variable.

  1. Within a project, select Estimate.
  2. Select the group with the line item in it.
  3. Select the desired line item.

  4. Select the Quantity field.
    XREstimateItemQtySelected

You can also use a combination of variables and mathematical symbols in the quantity field. For example, if you want to do 15% extra compared to the floor area, enter F*1.15.
